Real estate investment and development company Aardex has launched a new company today Stellerawhich will focus on the development of community solar projects, with a focus on communities disproportionately affected by the energy transition.

“Aardex has a decades-long track record of successfully developing projects that have a positive impact on communities,” said Caleb Hebel, Director for Aardex and Stellera. “Stellera is the natural evolution of our growing understanding that integrating clean energy is essential for the long-term security, resilience and prosperity of our communities. Our team brings extensive experience in navigating the often complex process of delivering renewable energy projects, and we look forward to working with communities and utilities to expand access to renewable energy opportunities to continue increasing clean energy.”

Stellera is assisted together with Hebel Eric Shannon, an industry veteran with nearly a decade of experience in energy project development. Shannon will oversee Stellera’s clean energy initiatives, which primarily focus on community solar. Prior to joining Stellera, Eric managed utility-scale solar and wind projects totaling over 5 GW of SPP and MISO at Invenergy.

Stellera is actively seeking project development opportunities and will primarily focus on community solar projects in the Rocky Mountain and Midwest regions. Working with landowners, communities, utilities and stakeholders, Stellera works to identify optimal land locations, assess buildability of sites, secure access to the electric grid, explore state incentives and maximize project value. Using a data-driven development approach, Stellera aims to minimize risk and maximize positive impact for both partners and the communities it serves.
