Cottonwood Gulch Expeditions, a non-profit educational organization in New Mexico, announced a continuous collaboration with everyone Solar for the installation of a new 108-KW solar array and charging station for electric vehicle on the historic base camp.

Building on the successful cooperation of 2019, which brought 8.85 kW of solar energy and has driven more than 17,000 pounds direct carbon savings, this new solar project will reduce electricity costs and at the same time deepen the long-term dedication of Cottonwood Gulch for sustainability and hands-on learning. The investment not only offers environmental benefits, but also serves as an essential educational tool for students who deal with the compelling outdoor programs of the organization.

“We are pleased to expand our partnership with everyone Solar, whose support helps to bring our vision on sustainable, outdoor education to life,” said Jordan Stone, executive director of Cottonwood Gulch Expeditions. “By integrating solar energy and EV infrastructure into our campus, we invest in the health of our community, the future of our environment and the training of every young person who comes through our programs. Together we cause curiosity and responsibility -qualities that students will bring in the world as environmental stewards.”

Cottonwood Gulch works closely with local schools and families to bridge the access gap in outdoor and environmental education, so that children with all backgrounds can develop a strong, personal relationship with nature. The new solar installation will enable the organization to reduce savings from lower energy costs to capital projects and fairs, which increases access and impact for young people under the preparation.
