The Ohio Supreme Court has confirmed the decision of the Ohio Power Siting Board 2022 to grant the 350-MW Harvey Solar project its certificate of environmental compatibility and public needs.

Harvey Solar has been developed by Open Road Renewables and will be located in Hartford and Bennington Townships by Licking County with a construction phase of 18 to 24 months, which can now start with the ruling of the Supreme Court. Studies in the late phase are underway to prepare for construction. The project requires 300 to 400 construction workers, with extra long -term employees during the company.

“Open Road Renewables and the Harvey Solar Team are proud to bring this state-of-the-art project to Licking County, together with the huge, local financial and community benefits that it will yield,” said Samantha Sawmiller, director of Development for Open Road Renewables. “With the statement of the Supreme Court, we will continue to build. Not only will the local community benefit from the project, but it will generate clean, affordable, own energy to help meet the growing demand from OHIO to power.”

Harvey Solar has entered into extra financial obligations to the Hartford Fire Department, the Hartford Independent Fair, Licking County Park District and other community benefits that will be realized when the project starts with construction. In addition, Harvey Solar works together with the local joint vocational school, C-TEC, for the development of staff to help future generations of licking county students to pursue a career in the competent transactions.
