Polysulfide is one of the most promising materials for electrolytes used in large-scale watery Redox flow batteries (RFBs) due to the inherent safety, high energy and low costs. However, potential polysulfide -crosover results in a poor lifecycle for batteries, which prevents Sulfur -based upstream batteries From closer to commercialization.

With this in mind, a group of researchers in China has outlined a new path for the industrialization of this energy storage technology, which promises competing live storage costs for long-term energy storage. ‘In our work we presented an integrated strategy on the commercialization of sulfur-based flow battery, aimed at catalyst design, ion-selective membranes and device integration, ”said the corresponding author of the research, Dongliang Chao, said PV -Magazine.
