Premier Energies has commissioned a new 1.2 GW Topcon Solar Cell production line in FAB City, Hyderabad. The facility supplies cell efficiencies above 25% with advanced 16-bus bar architecture that makes a higher power density and energy yield possible under Real-World conditions.

The new line increases the solar cell capacity of Prime Minister from 2 GW to 3.2 GW. The company is currently working on improving its cell production capacity to 8.4 GW and module capacity up to 11.1 GW (from 5.1 GW currently) by June 2026.

“Commissioning of our new Topcon zonnel line marks a crucial step in our innovation trip. With high efficiency and AI-compatible architecture, this technology represents the following jump in the solar performance,” said Chiranjeev Saluja, director and CEO of Premier Energies.

“This commissioning is not only a technological upgrade it is a strategic enabler. This performance seamlessly corresponds to our long-term route map for vertical integration and worldwide competitive capacity,” added Sudhir Reddy, Chief Strategy Officer of Premier Energies. “In particular, 60% of the equipment for this line comes from Europe, which is a reflection of our strategic resilience and dedication to diversifying the most important supply chain of equipment.”
