Reliance -infrastructure to go on solar energy, battery production

Reliance Infrastructure LTD (Rinfra) has announced plans to set up integrated solar equipment and battery production units.

Reliance Infrastructure LTD (Rinfra) has unveiled plans to enter the production industry of renewable energy. It will set up a state-of-the-art integrated facility for solar panels and components. At the same time, the integrated battery production -unit of advanced energy storage solutions will develop for raster applications and electric mobility.

“With the entry of the Reliance Infrastructure in Solar Equipment and Battery Manufacturing Business, the Reliance Group will now cover the entire spectrum of the value chain for renewable energy consumption, allowing the group to offer end-to-end solutions of renewable energy to the Production of solar energy, “explained dependency infrastructure. “This movement is a supplement to the efforts of Reliance Power, aimed at renewable energy generation, which further strengthens the general presence of the group in the sector.”

Reliance Infrastructure has appointed Ivan Saha as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the renewable production company. SAHA offers more than 30 years of experience in semiconductors, solar technology and MEMS device design. He previously worked as CEO of Vikram Solar and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Renew Power. He also brings extensive experience with his contributions to the indigenous production and sensor development programs of Isro.

Mushtaque Hussain has been appointed as CEO of the battery production company. Hussain brings more than 25 years of experience in the Automotive, Renewable Energy, Consumer Electronics and Power Tools sectors. He has held leadership roles in organizations such as Reliance Industries LTD (RIL) and Tesla. Before he came to Rinfra, he was Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of the New Energy Division of Ril.

Earlier, Reliance Power, part of the Reliance Group, had announced important plans for renewable energy generation. Reliance Now Suntech, a subsidiary of Reliance Power, has recently secured a 930 MW solar energy project with a storage system for battery energy (BESS) from the Solar Energy Corp. from India (SECI) via an E-revise auction. The project includes a minimum storage capacity of 465 MW/1,860 MWh, charged by solar energy. The company also develops 1,270 MW of renewable energy projects in Bhutan.
