Schroders Greencoat UK Portfolio touches 2GW operational solar energy

Schroders Greencoat, the renewable manager Arm of Schroders Capital, has surpassed 2GW of operational soil mounting solar capacity in the UK.

The milestone was reached with the energy of the Eynsham Solar site in West Oxfordshire.

Greencoat, the renewable and energy transition infrastructure manager of the management giant Schroders activated by the VK head office, has more than 200 operational PV developments in the United Kingdom.

At the beginning of 2024, the company completed the largest operational on the land mounted on the UK, with a 513.3 MWP portfolio from Toucan Energy.

Earlier this year, Greencat acquired the 27.5 MW Ducklington Solar Power Plant and in 2024 the 28.5 MW Stokeford Solar Project in Dorset from Innova Renewables. The two companies work together and Innova has sold five pre-construction solar projects to Greencoat, a total of 110 MWp capacity.

The two companies have a joint venture separately, is renewable energy sources, which have was sown with solar assets, including the 22.6 MW Bicker Fen Solar Power Plant. WAS Founded in 2023 and is intended to finance and develop 5GW of renewable energy capacity by 2028.

In July, Greencat acquired a 110 MW British Solar Port Folio, consisting of three assets in England, from Metlen Energy and Metals (formerly Mytilineos). Less than a month later, the fund completed the purchase of the 80.5 MWP South Meath Solar Farm from Statkraft, and later in August 2024 the 49.9 MW Tiln Farm Solar Project from Lightsource BP acquired.

Greencoat said that his team focuses on switching the functioning of photovoltaic assets from short -term capital, including the active management of development risk and the construction of new assets, in addition to protecting the long -term value of operational assets.

Lee Moscovitch, partner and co-head of Solar & Storage at Schroders Greencoat, said: “Our Sun team is at the forefront of PV investments on solar energy, as well as asset management and long-term value improvement. Active management is crucial to achieve positive results for our customers’ rolesive role.

According to the company’s own market research, Greencoat is the largest manager of the UK for operating soil mounting solar capacity. It also manages wind, bio energy and transition investments.

The growth of Greencoat in the British solar market extends to the first commercial scale of the UK on the solar energy. In 2016, what previously launched Greencoat Capital, his first solar fund, which was fully invested in 2017 in addition to a single institutional investor.
