SEG Solar has completed its first transaction for the sale of SEC. 45x advanced production -tax credits for production, with a total value of a maximum of $ 50 million. The transaction closed and the first financing took place on June 6, 2025.
SEG Solar Manufacturing in Texas
The tax credits come from the production of SEG Solar’s 2025 module in its production factory in Houston, Texas. According to the agreement, an American public enterprise SEG pays a price of $ 0.94 per $ 1.00 tax credit value for four installments linked to the actual production output and the sale of solar modules.
“We are very happy that we have completed our first sec. 45x tax sale, so that an important financial milestone is marked for our company. This transaction offers us a considerable cash flow, strengthens our financial position and enables us to further accelerate our investments in American production,” said Jim Wood, CEO of SEG Solar. “By expanding our production capacity and deepening our domestic partnerships, we not only promote innovation of clean energy, but we also make sense to create jobs and economic growth in the long term.”
The tax credits are directly bound by the volume of solar modules produced in 2025 in the facility of SEG in Houston. With a total investment of more than $ 60 million, the production facility has reached an annual production capacity of 2 GW to two fully automated production lines.
The transaction was facilitated by Moss Adams LLP (N/K/A Baker Tilly Advisory Group).
