The tandem device is based on a soil organic cell that can achieve a remarkable power conversion efficiency of 17.9% and a high short-circuit current of 28.60 MA CM2. In addition, it uses a top perovskite solar cell with an open circuit voltage of 1.37 V and a filling factor of 85.5%.

Researchers from the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS) claim that they have achieved a record-breaking power conversion efficiency of 26.4% for a tandem solar cell based on a wide-band gap perovskiet floor cell and a narrow-band gap organic top device.

“The newly designed tandem cell achieved a power conversion efficiency of 27.5% at 0.05 cm2 samples and 26.7% on 1 cm2 Devices, with the 26.4% result independently certified, “said the scientists, without revealing the name of the certification body.” These findings mark the highest certified performance so far under Perovskiet-Organic, Perovskiet-Cigs and Perovskite cells with one junction on a similar size. “

The result was made possible by a new type of organic absorber in the soil cell, which is said to be “considerably” in the vicinity of the near-infrared (NIR) photon harvest thanks to an asymmetrical non-filling acceptor (NFA) known as P2EH-1V. This uses a unilateral conjugated π bridge to reduce the optical band gap of the cell to 1.27 EV while retaining “ideal” exciton dissociation and nanomorphology and ensures hole transfer to the electronendonor PBDB-T-2F (PM6).

Thanks to this design, the organic cell was able to achieve a remarkable power conversion efficiency of 17.9% and a high short-circuit density of 28.60 ma cm2. With the help of ultra -fast spectroscopy and device physics -analyzes, the research team discovered that the NFA absorption makes it possible to be deeply in the NIR area while maintaining a sufficient driving force for efficient cargo separation and ordered molecular gasket, thereby storing free charge with minimal energy loss.

The scientists used two layers with a transparent guide oxide (TCO) interconnector to connect the organic cell with an upper perovskiet cell with an open circuit voltage of 1.37 V and a filling factor of 85.5%. “These claims result in perovskite -organic tandem solar cells that achieve a record efficiency of 26.7% (certified at 26.4%) over an opening area greater than 1 cm2“The scientists said.

“With efficiency that are ready to amount to 30%, these flexible films are ideal for the production of roll-to-roll and seamless integration on curved or fabric substraten-thinking to self-powered health plasterers who pests sunlight to walk on board sensors, or smart battery,” Serometrics said Series, said serious, Sarthares said serious, “Serometrics,” Serometrics said, “Serometry said,” Serometry said, “Serometrics,” Serometrics said. “Thanks to their lightweight and flexible shape factor, Perovskiet-organic tandem solar cells are ideal for power applications that are carried out directly on devices such as drones, portable electronics, smart fabrics and other AI-compatible devices.”

The device was described in the newspaper “Efficient near-infrared harvest in Perovskiet-Organic tandem solar cells“Which was recently published in nature.

In December, researchers from the University of Potsdam in Germany and the Chinese Academy of Sciences said they achieved an efficiency of 25.7% for a tandem solar cell based on the same configuration.
