The DC Sustainable Energy Utility (Dcseu), In collaboration with the Department of Energy and Environment (Date) district, six local solar developers and contractors have selected to support 150 solar installations on single-family homes for income-qualified residents in 2025.

This investment builds on the work of DCSEU on the solar energy of the district for all the program that 668 households with low to moderate income in DC offered in DC with the benefits of the roof of solar energy without costs since 2019. In combination with all programs for all programs in the Deete. Savings.

Following a competitive request for proposals, the DCSEU has selected the following contractors who are ready to complete solar projects in the district this year:

  • Greenscape Environmental Services
  • Solar solution
  • Uprise Electric Company
  • Grid alternatives

DCSEU is working on more solar contractors and developers to support the ambitious target of this year.

“We are delighted to lead solar energy for everyone to his sixth program year,” says Ben Burdick, Interim DCSEU director. “These projects immediately reduce the costs for DC families, reduce pollution and contribute to the economy of the city with possibilities for DC companies and jobs for residents of DC.”

In 2024, the DCSEU supplied $ 333 million in lifelong cost savings for DC residents and companies, created 90 green jobs and invested $ 14.4 million in low to moderate income communities in the district. The investments supported the addition of 3.5 MW of solar capacity for the city.

The solar energy for all programs to continue to cover the costs of electrical panelupgrades and roof repairs for qualified projects. It will also expand the pilot program for Home Battery pilot until 2025 to continue to learn about linking solar and energy storage technologies.

The DCSEEU has updated the program to streamline applications for affordable home electrification and solar energy for everyone to confirm the program -close program faster and to enable residents to request both programs at the same time. It launched a tool for customers to find services that are suitable for their needs. The DCSEU made higher stimuli and more options for various electrification and fuel switching upgrades that are not limited by income limits.

In addition to Solar for All, DCSEU also offers the Affordable Home Electrification Program (AHEP). The program helps residents with a low to moderate income that live in single -family homes, away from fossil fuel equipment to cleaner and energy -efficient technologies such as heat pumps, induction heaters, heat pump dryers and heat pump bo there without costs.

DC households that are eligible for free electrification upgrades via AHEP are also eligible for single-family family or community benefits via solar energy for everyone, which limits potential increases to their electricity accounts.
