Solar accounted for 22.1% of electricity generation in the European Union in June, because 13 Member States established new records for the share of solar energy in their national power mixes.
Solar became the EU’s largest electricity source for the first time ever in June, according to one New report Van Energie Think tank.
ENG discovered that the share of Solar in generating electricity reached 22.1%last month, followed by nuclear (21.8%) and wind (15.8%) energy.
The 45.4 TWH of the last month generated Zonne -Zon is an increase of 22% on the amount of the solar and sun produced in June 2024 and will be established as thirteen EU countries for the share of solar energy mix in their electricity mix.
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Sweden all saw Solar reach its highest share of electricity generation to date in June.
The Netherlands registered the highest part of the sun in its electricity generation, with more than 40%, followed by Germany and Greece, where the share was older. In Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Romania and Slovenia, the share of solar energy in electricity generation was more than 20%for the first time.
The report from Ember says that the record month of June for Solar Energy in recent years was in recent years and pieces of warm and sunny weather throughout the month. Chris Rosslowwe, senior energy analyst at Ember, noticed that Europe will be a “solar power patient”.
“The growth of cheap renewable energy sources gradually achieves the European energy system of the roller coaster from fossil energy prices,” RossloWe added. “The high chance now comes from adding battery storage and flexibility to extend the use of renewable electricity to mornings and evenings, where fossil fuels still determine high energy prices.”
Earlier this week, a separate report from Ember concluded that record levels of solar generation had helped in the EU to stabilize the power supply during the heat wave that the continent hit by the end of last month.
