Solex Energy to open 2 GW Topcon Cell -Factory in 2027

The Solex Energy from India has started working on its new 2 GW N-type tunneloxide-passivated contact (Topcon) Solar Cell Factory, with operations that start early 2027.

Solex, based in Gujarat, started working on its new 2 GW N-TOPcon Solar Cell Manufacturing Facility, planned to start early 2027.

The company has already secured Land. The site is part of an integrated facility for solar cell module that will also house a 2 GW Topcon module production line, chairman and director Chetan Shah told PV -Magazine.

This development represents a major step forward for Solex, which already serves 1.5 GW module production capacity and works on bringing a 2.5 GW module line online by September 2025, so that the total module output annually a boost up to 4 GW.

Looking ahead, the company wants to reach cumulative module capacity of 15 GW and cell capacity of 5 GW by the end of the decade.
