Solmicrogrid starts a new program to buy C&I Solar and Microgrid Systems for cash

A project from Solmicrogrid.

Solmicrogrid announced the launch of its energy-as-a-service ‘(Eaas) partner program, where the company will only buy an existing solar energy or full Microgrid system that is on or almost completed, giving them a fast output and preceding cash.

In turn, Solmicrogrid will offer the giving customer clean, no-capex energy under a long-term energy-as-a-service (EAAS) agreement. In comparison with the traditional “build-and-sell” model that is common in the entire industry, the approach of Solmicrogrid offers a flexible solution and delivers faster outputs to developers, together with cost savings, operational efficiency and seamless energy management to host sites.

By taking ownership, monmicrogrid monitors, maintains and is responsible for the energy system, via an EAAS agreement. This structure enables the host to simply pay for energy solutions as a service and eliminates the need to possess or manage the energy infrastructure. Whether it is an array of 500 kW on a supermarket or a Multi-MW-Microgrid in multiple locations, Solmicrogrid has the capital to acquire a wide range of systems: solar energy, canopies, battery storage, Genets, EV infrastructure and advanced microids.

“We reform how solar projects, storage and microgrid projects, near or in commercial operation, are monitored,” says Kirk Edelman, CEO of Solmicrogrid. “This model creates value for all stakeholders: Project Invorders receive a clean, fast exit and payment in advance; host customers receive predictable energy savings without ownership complexity, and Solmicrogrid assumes long-term activities, maintenance and performance responsibility. It is an elegant solution.”

About the fast -growing distributed energy landscape, designing and supplying a wide range of companies – project developers, EPC companies, builders and OEMs – designing and delivering renewable energy systems for C&I customers. Many of these players share a similar business model: develop, engineer and construct the project, then sell it after completion to the host customer, or possess and exploit the project to generate recurring income in the long term.

Although both approaches have merits, Solmicrogrid offers a more efficient, scalable alternative through its EAAS program partner program. Eaas has become increasingly popular as electricity prices continue to rise and renewable energy systems become more complex. This model offers companies an efficient way to access sustainable energy without the typical capital investments and daily ownership responsibilities.

EaAS agreements usually offer renewable energy rates with a discount on traditional rates for utilities. EAAS agreements also improve reliability, offer energy dependence during the disruption of the network and often allow the company to resell excess energy to the network for an extra income flow.

Ideal customers for this mutually affordable program include:

  • Project developers who want to accelerate the cash flow and simplify exit strategies
  • EPCs and builders who want to earn money without holding or managing
  • Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) Bundling hardware and installation services, looking for a trusted operator
  • Energy-as-a-service resellers or brokers who need a long-term operational partner

This news follows the launch of Solmicrogrid’s Array to Microgrids ServiceThat enables business owners to sell existing solar arroys to sell their assets for a pre -cash infusion and at the same time achieve a fully managed, resilient Microgrid.
