SOLV Energy takes over installation subcontractor SDI Services

Utility-scale solar engineering, procurement and construction company SOLV Energy has announced that it has acquired Sacramento Drilling Inc. (SDI Services) has taken over. SDI Services has worked as a subcontractor for SOLV Energy on various completed and ongoing projects.

“SDI Services has been a recognized leader in solar foundation solutions for more than 25 years. Since 2010, SDI Services has provided solutions for installing solar pre-drilling and pile foundations on more than eight facilities designed and built by SOLV Energy. The acquisition of SDI accelerates our initiative to strengthen our service offering as we continue our growth as a leading provider of renewable solutions, and we look forward to building on our strong track record,” said George Hershman, CEO of SOLV Energy.

In the future, the two companies will collaborate on projects to optimize the installation and improve operational efficiency.

“SOLV shares our values ​​and sees great potential in what we can do together. This combination will provide SDI Services with new opportunities for growth, innovation and career development for our employees,” said Pietro Saviotti, CEO of SDI Services. SDI Services, based in Sacramento, has approximately 120 full-time employees.

On the 2024 Top Solar Contractors List, SOLV Energy was listed as the third-largest contractor in the United States based on installed kilowatts from the previous year. SDI Services reached number 16.
