The factory is opened in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico with an initial initial investment of $ 25 million. It is located on a former Hewett-Packard site. The facility has a first 1 GW output.

A spokesperson for the company told PV Magazine USA It will produce 72-cell N-type modules for the market for utility scale. Solx has plans to expand and produce residential solar panels in 2027.

This year’s offer will include a 625 W-module, the company said that it will deliver “as a turn-key OEM to an soon announced partner.”

Solx said it will collaborate with Origami Solar to find steel frames for the modules, including a large format G12 module.

“At SOLX we are obsessed with quality and we enter the module production with a clear mission: to produce sustainable and well -performing modules for Puerto Rico and other extreme weather -sensitive American regions,” said James Holmes, Chief Executive Officer of Solx.

Solx said that the construction of the facility will create more than 200 new jobs, with an estimated total of 600 or more jobs projected in logistics, supply chain and supporting industries. In total, the investment of $ 64 million of $ 64 million will offer an economic boost to Puerto Rico, while supporting 100% domestic production.
