TCL launches TCL Sunpower Global Unit

The Chinese group has announced that the new TCL Sunpower Global Unit will work mainly in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and the sale of Sunpower Zunpower in addition to TCL’s own solar products.

TCL Technology Group Corp today has announced the launch of its new TCL Sunpower Global Energy Business Unit.

The move follows the acquisition of a majority interest in the solar module manufacturer Maxeon, which contains the patent with regard to Sunpower’s with interconnected Back Contact (IBC) and other Solar Module Technologies, by TCL, by TCL, by TCL TCL-Tze.

However, the new unit will work independently of Maxeon. “Maxeon remains as an independent company mentioned in Nasdaq, aimed at the residential, commercial and UPP markets in the United States,” said a company spokesperson said PV -Magazine.

“The new TCL Sunpower Global will continue to design the leading solar products and solutions by the industry and be an engineer, use the supply chain of TCL Group, worldwide production options and scale for production,” the spokesperson continued. ‘For the new products we will assess and evaluate the global production possibilities and the ecosystem of TCL where production is most useful from an economic and supply chain position, based on local policy, the needs of the customer and market regulations. “

More details about the future of each of the Maxeon factories were not announced.

TCL Sunpower Global will rely on the Sunpower Installer Network, especially in Europe, the Central East and Africa (EMEA) region. TCL is also active in the PV production -industry in China via its solar wareer -unit TCL Zhonghuan.
