Ameresco has completed the construction on a 1.2 MW of the solar-carport project at Killeen Regional Airport In Texas. In addition to the solar carport on the short-term parking and rental parties, Ameresco completed the adjustment of the airport.

“Ameresco is proud to work with Killen Regional Airport on this solar-powered parking project,” said Lou Maltezos, president of Central & Western USA, Canada Regions in Ameresco. “By integrating solar technology and energy-efficient lighting, this great project not only modernizes the airport infrastructure, but also delivers considerable cost savings.”

The project was made possible through a competitive subsidy process with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Terminals Program (ATP). The last scope of the project was more than $ 7 million, with a subsidy allocation of $ 5 million. This investment is estimated to compensate for an estimated 68% of the purchased electricity from the airport.
