A new report predicts that Chile will lead the region in energy storage capacity, followed by Mexico and the Dominican Republic – driven by supporting legal frameworks and the growing acceptance of hybrid energy projects.

Wood Mackenzie predicts a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8% in the Latin -American energy storage market until 2034 and reaches a cumulative capacity of 23 GW.

In his new report entitled Latin -America Energy Storage Outlook 2025, the research and consultancy firm that Chili is leading the region with the largest installed storage capacity, thanks to the advanced statutory policy, good for almost half of the total regional capacity.

After Chile, Mexico and the Dominican Republic are, although Mexico stands for regulatory challenges, while the Dominican Republic has growth.
