Lucky Cement, a large producer and exporter of Cement in Pakistan, will soon organize the largest battery energy storage system (BESS) in the country, with a facility of 20.7 MW/22.7 MWh that receives an update from leadership. It will be in the 34 MW Captive Solar Power Plant in the PeZu facility in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Developed with Reon Energy and driven by batteries from China Contemporary Amperex Technology Ltd. (Catl), The project Pakistan marks the largest industrial energy storage so far.

De Bess is designed to absorb solar intermittentie, offer a spinning reserve and make the closure of fossil fuel generators possible during daylight hours -a major step towards grid dependence and operational resilience.
