Limitation of the inverter output, called Derating, enables installers to maintain the system power when adding a new inverter to an existing solar installation, or to help homeowners qualify for stimuli with precise power targets.
A new product Through Tigo Energy Tigo Energy from Zonne -Omverter enables installers to limit the output of Tigo -Omvermers by using software during the commissioning process.
Lowering the maximum AC power classification of a inverter, referred to as Power Derating, enables installers to set the AC asset classification of an inverter during commissioning when accurate system targets are required for stimuli, or to retain the system of the system when a legacy is updated.
Wood Mackenzie reported that more than a million American residential solar installations are more than 10 years old, and another 400,000 will cross that threshold in the next five years. Tigo said that this leads to a fast -growing market for replacing the inverter, so that customers can restore solar installations that have endured their warranty and/or payback time.
“In many cases, the systems that we have served by performance and some have even stopped producing energy completely, but the homeowner has been in the proverbial green on the system for several years,” said Nick Sherman, Chief Executive Officer, EnergyAid, a provider for solar activities, maintenance and maintenance.
The Tigo -Omsorter power control (IPOC) is designed to give installers flexibility when confronted with AC output restrictions on both new and legacy residential solar systems. The company said that its products have a wide range of compatibility with the installed base of power electronics. The inverters do not require installation of a battery storage system and offer the option to further upgrade systems with energy optimization, system monitoring at module level and fast switch-off protection.
“The vast majority of customers we work with, like to make a relatively small secondary investment in their systems to make the solar energy flow, and with nameplate adjustment Tigo helps us with ease,” Sherman said.
Installers can guide the threating process itself via the Tigo EL app during the commissioning of the system. The energy management possibilities and DC architecture of the system help to reduce recurrence loses for storage, modulesmermatch, shadow and cutting losses, Tigo said.
Tigo said the software was developed on the basis of industrial suggestions from repair and repeated companies such as EnergyAid.
“Although it may feel counter-intuitively to have a technology product do less of what it is designed to do, the possibility of quickly and easily wandering Tigo-Omwriters with the IPOC function was a full market-driven development,” said JD Dillon, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at Tigo Energy.
Dillon compared the unlocking function for the replacement of the alternator and the water pump in the car industry.
“Nobody expects an alternator or water pump to last forever, and the replacement parts and service market has become an industry in itself,” he said.
TIGO installers can start using the AC Capacity Output control of the inverter by downloading or updating the Tigo EI (Energy Intelligence) app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
