Tindo Solar in South Australia has protected an Aud 34.5 million ($ 22.34 million) subsidy under the Aud 1 billion of the Australian Federal Government Sunny Solar Sun Solar Energy To scale up the Solar Manufacturing industry of Australia.

Tindo will use the financing, which includes a production production credit (MPC) and a capital subsidy to upgrade its Mawson Lakes facility in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, which scales the annual output from 20 MW to 180 MW.

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (Arena), which manages the Solar Sunshot program, said that supporting investments in automation and expands Tindo’s product range “to record premium N-type solar modules.” It will also support a feasibility study for a future gigafactory Able to produce 1 GW solar panels annually.

Richard Petterson, CEO of Tindo Solar, said that the financing will enable the company to scale up the production “to a more efficient and cost -effective model.”

“The support for solar sun means that we can lower our prices while retaining our quality, which quails our addressable market and makes Tindo sun panels available to more consumers,” he said. “We make premium solar panels, which means that we have recorded a small part of the Australian market for solar panels, but the production credit opens a larger market.”

Petterson said that the production -expansion will create 50 new jobs and an Australian solar -PV -Supply Chain will activate that is able to replace imported components, initially in aluminum frames and connection boxes, but extends to other PV components made by domestic manufacturers.

Arena CEO Darren Miller added that Tindo is the only manufacturer of solar module of Solar Module placed unique to help build and strengthen a domestic solar industry.

“Australia will have to install hundreds of millions of solar panels in the coming decades to reach our 2050 emission goals and reach the superpower ambition of the renewable energy,” he said. “There is an opportunity to make part of this here in Australia and today marks an important step in that direction.”

The financing for TINDO is one of the four solar Sunshot subsidies announced by Arena with another Aud 11 million to go to feasibility studies that the production of electric PV components based in Australia investigated.

Other projects to receive financing include:

  • Aud 5 million to Solquartz for his Townsville Green Polysilicon Feasibility study to a 100,000 TPA low emission, Solar-Grade Polysilicon Production facility.
  • AUD 1.3 million to Energus Solar for its feasibility study for a 50,000 TPA low emissions, Solar Poles Polysilicon Production Facility.
  • Aud 4.7 million to Stellar PV for its feasibility study for a 2 GW low emissions Polysilicon Ingot Trek and Waffle facility.

Arena said these studies will investigate the local production of polysilicon, ingots and waffles, which are critical components in the production of solar panels.

“Australia is rich in raw materials and is well positioned to produce the electricity components that will stimulate our future of the sun and help strengthen the energy dependence of Australia, add value to international supply chains and to create new opportunities in the production of clean energy,” the agency said.
