Waaree Energies has obtained NABL India accreditation for the PV Module Test Lab (PMTL) at its module manufacturing facility in Chikhli, Gujarat.

It was Waaree’s second NABL accreditation, after the first for the Thumb production facility.

The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), a globally recognized laboratory accreditation body, has granted recognition under the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards. This confirms the laboratory’s ability to deliver accurate and reliable results for various test parameters.

“The PMTL now performs more than 48 tests, including thermal cycling, moist heat, mechanical loading and potential induced degradation, ensuring PV modules meet stringent performance, safety and durability requirements,” said Waaree Energies . “By adhering to internationally accepted testing protocols, Waaree demonstrates its ability to produce modules that can withstand various environmental conditions while maintaining efficiency and reliability.”

The PMTL conducts design and safety qualifications for PV modules, accelerated testing to assess reliability, durability and performance under a variety of field conditions, and specialized testing across multiple disciplines. These include evaluations of biological, chemical, electrical, mechanical, radiological, photometry, IT systems, electrical, thermal and medical equipment.

“Now that advanced testing capabilities have been extended to our Chikhli facility, we can certify even greater volumes of solar panels domestically, reducing dependence on foreign laboratories and saving valuable resources,” said Amit Paithankar, CEO of Waaree Energies.
