Sunrun has completed three solar installations at affordable apartment communities in Orange County, California. Together, the new solar projects on the roof will offer monthly notes savings to around 800 inhabitants with a low income.
Sunrun installed the solar systems in collaboration with affordable home providers at Arroyo Vista, Villa Plumosa and Yorba Linda Palms apartment complexes. In total, the systems will offer 748 KW electricity, which compensates for around 80% to 90% of the energy consumption of the communities. All three projects are located in the 40th conference district of California, that the American rep. Young Kim represents.

To commemorate the three projects, Sunrun -executives joined Rep. Kim, other state and provincial chosen officials and CEO of Eden Housing for a ribbon cut event during the recently completed installation in Arroyo Vista Apartment Complex in Mission Viejo.

Via virtual network measurement, each of the 156 apartment houses in Arroyo Vista receives around $ 60 in savings of monthly energy bills.
The solar installation in the Villa Plumosa apartment complex, located in Yorba Linda, is also completed and operates and offers 76 affordable apartment houses with almost $ 60 in monthly savings in the field of energy bill via virtual net measurement. The new solar project in nearby Yorba Linda Palms will be operational this summer and will offer the 44 affordable apartment houses of the complex of more than $ 75 in monthly energy savings.
The projects participated in the Solar on Multifamily Affordable Housing (SOMAH) program and the Low-Income Communities Investment Tax Credit (ITC) program, so that residents could enjoy the benefits of solar energy without costs for the benefits of solar energy. State financing for the three projects comes from polluters who buy greenhouse guest surcharges under the cap-and-trade program of the state.
