The company’s new mobile app is designed to combine all activities for solar installers, from installations and commissioning to management and maintenance, into one streamlined platform.

Israel-based inverter manufacturer SolarEdge has launched a mobile app for residential, commercial and industrial (C&I) solar installers.

SolarEdge Go is the company’s first mobile app that provides everything solar installers need, from installation and commissioning processes to management and maintenance, on a single platform.

The company says the app will introduce new remote management and monitoring capabilities to help installers reduce costly or avoidable site visits.

It will gradually introduce remote access features, SolarEdge says, including direct access to inverter settings and remote diagnostics. Installers can create, edit or select a location and register solar inverters, adjusting remote access permissions to the location if necessary.

The app is expected to help reduce commissioning time through a quick connection function for power optimizers and the ability to schedule upgrades after commissioning. Installers can also contact customers directly via the app.

SolarEdge UK Country Manager Christelle Barnes says the app allows installers to work faster, smarter and with more flexibility. “Our installers remain at the heart of everything we do,” said Barnes. “As such, we continue to dedicate significant resources to creating best-in-class tools that improve efficiency during the installation process.”

In the coming months, the app will combine the capabilities of SolarEdge’s existing SetApp and Mapper applications.

Earlier this week, SolarEdge announced that this will happen close and sell its energy storage activities and assets.
