UK-based battery supplier Echion Technologies has collaborated with the Perth-based company EV services company Switch Technologies is demonstrating its patented active node material technology for fast charging in a Toyota Land Cruiser 79 series off-road vehicle.

The companies worked together for nine months to develop new XNO battery modules and packs to hybridize the Land Cruiser. They have now begun an extensive testing and validation program to quantify the benefits of XNO anode materials batteries used in heavy industry.

XNO materials are based on proprietary mixed niobium oxide compositions and microparticle designs and make this possible lithium-ion batteries to safe fast charging in less than 10 minutesmaintain high energy density even at extreme temperatures and deliver high power over a lifespan of more than 10,000 cycles.
