BLS plans 1 GW plant to make battery-powered electrolyzers – SPE

Dutch company BLS has received €54.6 million ($57.3 million) from the European Commission’s Innovation Fund to develop a “Battolyser” plant with an annual production capacity of 1 GW in Rotterdam. The construction of the site is supported by partners such as the Port of Rotterdam Authority and automation company VDL.

BLS’ patented Battolyser product enables flexible green hydrogen production by integrating battery capacity into an electrolyser.
