SPR launches special two-sided recycling lines for solar panels

SolarPanelRecycling.com (SPR) announced that it has launched a double-sided solar panel recycling line at its recycling facilities in North Carolina and Georgia. The line enables clean glass separation with a recovery rate of 99% or higher, the company claims.

“The future of solar recycling requires innovation and SPR wants to lead the way by establishing best practices. Our investment in a dedicated two-sided recycling line is a proactive step to ensure our recycling services are scalable and that we can maximize recovery, minimize waste and support the industry’s sustainability goals,” said Brett C. Henderson, CEO of SolarPanelRecycling .com . “True recycling of solar energy goes beyond shredding panels. It requires cleanly separated raw materials that can be re-entered into the supply chain, creating real value and minimizing environmental impact. This new technology marks an important milestone for SPR and for the solar industry as a whole.”

SPR engineers and R&D teams have developed a new recycling line for bifacial modules that enables greater recovery efficiency. Unlike partial recyclers that shred entire panels – mixing silicon, glass, metals and plastics into unusable waste – the SPR process ensures clean separation of all components. This allows any material to return to the manufacturing supply chain, significantly reducing waste and supporting a circular economy.
