Two new complaints about infringing the violation of patents have been submitted in district court benches in Texas with regard to patents in the solar panels. Longi first challenged Jinkosolar on January 17 for semi -sliced cell infringement, and Jinko has submitted on 7 February against which one has submitted to Topcon.

Longi has the American patent no. 9,515,214 related to “Solar Battery module and production method thereof”, which usually includes shared (half-cut) solar cells. The patent was initially assigned to Mitsubishi in 2012. Mitsubishi assigned the ‘214 patent to Longi in 2020. In the complaint of Longi’s patent fracture, it states every half-squeezed model under the Jinko panel portfolio, regardless of whether they are perc or topcon use technology. Longi asks for damage to the infringement and an order to permanently stop further infringement.

Jinko’s request separately opposes the top construment in the industry. Jinko owns patent no. 11,824,136 related to “Solar Cell, production method thereof and photovoltaic module”, which was issued in 2023. Jinko also filed a complaint against Toyo due to infringement of the 136 patent. Jinko is looking for compensation for the infringement and an order for which to permanently stop further infringement on the Topcon patent.

Almost every major manufacturer of solar panel, even First Solar, has a claim to Topcon Panel technology. Judicial affairs will probably continue in the coming years.
