Natural Power Natural Power from Renewable Energy has supported NTR to successfully acquire 326 MW of Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Ireland.

The L&G NTR Clean Power (Europe) Fund has acquired two separate project portfolios, both in Ireland, with a combined capacity of 326 MW. The largest of the two portfolios is the solar and co-located currency portfolio known as project Monvallet, which is located in County Louth.

The project is currently in the pre-construction phase and includes a ready-made solar PV energy plant and currant portfolio with a combined capacity of 211 MW. The construction of the part of the Solar PV energy center of the project starts later this year, while the construction of the Bess -Actief is expected to start in 2026.

For this takeover, Natural Power carried out detailed assessments of the planning and environmental conditions, landlease, technology and design, geotechnical conditions, sitelay -out, project schedule and financial models, to ensure that the acquisition was well suited for L&G NTR.

In the meantime, the Ballyteige -portfolio, located in County Offaly, consists of two solar PV energy plants with a combined capacity of 115 MWP. This portfolio is also located in the pre-construction phase and the development has already obtained the schedule connection permits, granting the building permit in 2022. The construction of the projects in the Ballyeige portfolio is expected to start in 2027.

Natural Power supported L&G NTR on this acquisition in a similar way such as the Montvallet portfolio, while possible permission and environmental restrictions and land lease schemes are also considered.
