Public tenders in China continue to demonstrate exceptionally low price levels for Lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) Battery energy storage systems (BESS). In the last tender, more than 80% of bidders quoted prices under CNY 0.5/Wh ($ 69/kWh), which emphasizes fierce competition in the largest Bess market in the world.

On March 18, the Huadian group, one of the five largest state-owned companies in China, the list of winning bidders in its 2025 purchasing was looking for a cumulative 6 GWH battery storage.
