E.ON takes the full ownership of Eco2Solar

Utility E.on UK today announced that the Eco2Solar, a residential and commercial solar installation program, will fully acquire.

E.on UK took a 49% interest in the company in December 2020, at what time it was stated that Eco2Solar would continue to operate independently. The company was founded in 2007 and wants to make a viable standard on every new house on every new house.

Solar Power Portal contacted the companies to ask about the financial details of the transaction and was told that the conditions of the acquisition are not known, but that the company will continue to work as before.

The costs of the acquisition were also not announced in the cover of the initial importance of E.ON; Solar Power Portal heard that E.ON made an “honest investment given the scale and the potential of Eco2Solar”. Speaking in 2021, E.ON’s Chris Lovatt, Chief Operating Officer for Energy Infrastructure Services, said he had in mind “very little change in the daily running” of Eco2Solar as a result of the acquisition.

Since the first transaction, E.ON has put the activities in the housing sector, but continuous retrofit services and commercial and industrial installations. As part of the latter, the utility has mounted the largest in the UK on mounted solar project in the port of Liverpool.

About the most recent transaction with Eco2Solar, Chris Norbury, CEO of E.on UK said: “This is another important, strategic step in the direction of accelerating our growth in the new Builds market, while residential customers connect with flexible energy solutions that help to reduce their accounts and to lead to the transition from the VK.”
