Roltec Plant Cigs Solar Module Factory in Poland – PV Magazine International

The Singulus technologies of Germany will offer three of its physical vapor deposits (PVD) vacuum filler systems to the Roltec-based module manufacturer in a new plant that will produce copper, indium, gallium and selenium (CIGS) cells on glass substrates.

The Singulus Technologies, based in Germany, will offer three of its advanced vacuum deposits systems to the Module manufacturer Roltec established in Poland for a thin-film production line. The new equipment will be used in the production of CIGS sun cells on glass substrates.

The advanced PVD -vacuum filler systems from Singulus Technologies are designed for research, development and mass production. They will be installed in 2025 in a new Roltecfabriek in Wrocław, according to a press release. The equipment has one Capacity of 150 MW, a Singulus spokesperson said PV Magzaine.

“The PVD-Puttering systems are essential for depositing high-quality back contact and buffer layers on Glass Substraten,” Singulus said in a statement, adding that it is a dry, cadmium-free PVD process with “precise low control, to support the manufacture of environmentally-friendly and very efficient-friendly and very efficient-friendly and very efficient-friendly”

The companies are positioned for future cooperation between technology. “Although the current focus is on CIGS Dunne film technology, both companies have the opportunity to develop and implement Tandem Photovoltaic applications in the future,” Singulus said.

RiTTEC sees CIGS technology as an architecturally attractive technology for building facades and roofs because of the “more uniform” appearance compared to conventional silicon solar panels. It has worked on new CIGS zonnet technology within the European Horizon program, in projects such as high-efficiency Bifacial Dunne film Chalcogenide solar cells (HI-Bits).

Roltec did not disclose the size of the plant in the statement. The facility includes production and warehouse halls, offices and country for expansion. It is supported by an initiative funded by the EU to stimulate sustainable energy technologies in Europe, according to the statement, without providing further details.

Singulus Technologies offers coating technology to PV manufacturers, including sputtering and vapor deposits processing equipment, surface treatment, wet-chemical and thermal production processes. It also supplies equipment for other industries, such as semiconductor, medical technology, packaging, glass and motorization, as well as batteries and hydrogen industry.
