India’s MSEDCL has launched a tender to select developers for installing 2 GW/4 GWH from Bess on MSEDCL-designed sites that are connected to the intra-state transmission system.

The systems must support a two -hour resignation and be able to discharge two cycles of cargo per day. The minimum bid size is 100 MW/200 MWh.

Selected developers will build, possess and exploit the curriculum facilities, which must be available for MSEDCL for drafting and discharging on the basis of request. MSEDCL wants to use the storage systems to support state distribution companies during peak and off-peak hours. Land will be provided on for right -wing use for an annual lease agreement of INR 1 per plot.

MSEDCL signs a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (SPA) with the successful bidders.

According to the tender, independent currency developers and existing developers of renewable energy with valid Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) are eligible for intra-state projects. These developers can set up DC-linked Bess that is set up under the PPA together with their renewable energy projects. These systems must only be charged from the CO-located solar installation via DC-to-DC charging and the existing grid evacuation scheme will use.

For non-CO location BESS projects, MSEDCL will offer AC input for charging.
