Two nationally important infrastructure projects (NSIPs) were submitted to the British planning inspection in September.

If the two projects are approved, they can have a combined export capacity of up to 1000 MW. Because of their size, both the Lime Down Solar Park and the Rosefield Solar Farm Development Consent Orders (DCOs) need to make progress.

As soon as the Inspectorate (PINs) planning accepts the applications, they are passed on to the energy secretary, Ed Miliband for approval.

Lime

Submitted for a DCO on September 19 per island of Green Power, would have Lime Down 500 MW capacity and an on -site 1,000 MWH battery energy storage system (BESS).

The solar and storage developer Island Green Power, based in the UK, is 100% owned by the Australian investor Macquarie Group. It is also the company behind the 600 MW Cottam Solar Farm And 480 MW West Burton Solar FarmBoth of those were allowed by the energy secretary in the past year.

Ground -mounted solar PV panels would be installed over five country ‘packages’ in Wiltshire, with a combined area of 2,835 hectares, connected to the schedule at the Milksham substation of National Grid via underground cables.

Pins will publish his decision about whether they are the application on October 17.

Rosefield Solar Farm

Rosefield Solar Power Plant will also be educated with a BESS facility. Although the site has an offer of 500 MW Grid Connection, it is unclear exactly what the export capacity of the solar PV element will be if, after public consultation, the Area of the development that will be covered by solar panels was reduced by 37%.

An equivalent capacity reduction would be the total export of the site 320 MW, but this figure has not been confirmed.

Other changes after the consultation include a five -fold increase in the area reserved for nature, up to 176 hectares.

The project, which is located between Buckinghamshire and Aylesbury, is co-ownership of EDF-renewable energy sources and PS Renewables, a development and construction company of renewable energy established in the UK.

Pins will announce or the application is accepted before October 25.
