Mark Porter Auto Group in Zuid-Ohio recently celebrated the completion of a solar array of 196.7-KW at the Pomeroy location. The system, designed and built by Coconut Solarwill generate more than 70% of the dealer’s annual electricity needs.
Financing for the project came from a combination of federal tax stimuli and a USDA Rural Energy for America Program (Reap) Grant. These tools have contributed to reducing the costs in advance, making it possible for a small company in the Ohio countryside to invest in advanced energy technology.
“Coconut Solar is proud to work with Mark Porter Auto Group on this project,” said Roberta Washburn of Kocosing Solar. “This solar array is a good example of how local companies, in the light of the increasing electricity costs, can benefit from proven, cost-saving technology.”
