Portugal-based Chemite-Zonne-Zonne-Energie develops biodegradable cleaning and anti-sleepy products for PV panels that share land use with agricultural production.

Chemitek Solar, a Portuguese manufacturer of cleaning and maintenance products of solar panels, has announced new solutions that have been developed for unique pollution -challenges of agrivoltaïschen, such as agricultural residues, limited accessibility, organic pollution and the presence of crops.

“This new formulation, similar to our existing solar products, is certified for PV safety and is easily biodegradable. What makes it different is the ongoing study of the ecotoxicity of the residues after cleaning. This study includes the assessment of the influence of the germ and soil. PV -Magazine.

The new AgropV -Was protection and AGROPV products for softening water must be launched on Intersolar Europe 2026 Trade Fair, after the independent tests and certification have been completed, which is expected to be at the beginning of 2026.

“The first markets will be Europe and Asia because they are the regions with the highest maturity in the approval of the Agrivoltaics concept,” Queiroz added.

Agropv Wash Protect is a biodegradable solution that removes organic pollution from panels and protects it via an antistatic coating to rinse it again. The AgropV -Water softening agent is formulated to treat hard water in agricultural environments, to prevent mineral deposits according to Chemitek and to guarantee optimum panel performance.

Long -term ecotoxicity tests make formula loads possible if necessary. “The goal is to achieve a formula that, in addition to being directly biodegradable, also do not cause any damage to the crops and land in the time that is needed to complete completely biologically. The latest results validate that, and we are now testing more,” said Queiroz.

Similar ecotoxicity tests were performed in the past due to its solar washing and water softenant on floating PV products. Regarding the safety of the panels, Queiroz said it has the same validation as for the existing range of solar products.

The Chemitek -Gropv products are distributed by the worldwide partner network of Chemitek.

The new cleaning technology originated from an innovation project for sustainable solar and agricultural applications supported by the Portugal 2030 Strategic Plan (Norte 2030), which is financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
