ABB has announced a “Battery Energy Storage Systems-A-A-Service” (BESS-A-A-SERVICE) model to add storage to C&I customers without in advance Capex.

ABB has introduced a new offer based on subscriptions based on battery energy that aims to overcome the high capital costs and technical knowledge that is needed to add energy storage that can be taken back with years or even decades.

The “Battery Energy Storage Systems-A-A-Service” (BESS-A-A-Service) sets what would usually be a significant capital expenditure in advance at an operational costs that are distributed over every three-month payments.

The service focuses on commercial and industrial customers with a turnkey path to use batteries in several sectors, including data centers, transport and logistics and commercial buildings. According to ABB, the range of hardware, software and life cycle support includes, where the company manages implementation, maintenance and optimization.
