ABC Solar Marks 25 years with Grand Opening in Altasea
ABC Solar Incorporated, one of the longest solar energy companies in California, will celebrate its 25-year anniversary with a large opening and public celebration in Altasea in the port of Los Angeles.
The event takes place on Saturday, June 21 from 3 p.m. to sunset on the berth of Altasea 58, located on 2451 Signal St. in San Pedro.
ABC Solar, founded in 2000, has spent the last quarter of century installing solar energy systems in southern California. The company is now expanding its research and development work with a new laboratory space in Altasea, a 35-hectare non-profit campus focused on ocean innovation, clean energy and sustainability.
“San Pedro and this city have given us 25 incredible years,” says Brad Bartz, founder of ABC Solar. “Now we can open a Solar R and D lab in Altasea – and throw a party while we are busy.”
The family-friendly public event presents ABC Solar’s Clean Energy Vision and offers hands-on displays, including:
+ Underwater Robotics and Demos of ocean technology
+ Hydrogen -driven vehicles and engines
+ A sushi bar powered by clean energy
+ Solar System Tours and Educational Exhibitions
The event is powered by Briggs and Stratton Energy Solutions, the official energy partner of ABC Solar.
Participants who will be introduced at ABCSolar.com for a chance to win a surfboard made from recycled material by the local designer Ry.
“We call it the biggest party on the longest day of the year,” said Bartz. “And everyone is invited.”
