EDP Renewable energy sources North -America has launched his Ragsdale Solar Park in Madison Country, Mississippi. The 100 MW project, which became operational at the end of 2024, will supply the transmission system of Entergy Mississippi power. Amazon has concluded a contract for the full energy reduction of the system through a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

Ragsdale’s development started in 2016 with Acadian Renewable Energy, a joint venture between Sunchase Power and Eolian. EDPR NA Acadian from Acadian in early 2022 and then completed the development of the project. About $ 34.6 million will be paid in taxes during the life of the project to local authorities and will go to improving schools, roads and other essential services. About $ 15 million will also be paid to local landowners, who lease part of their country to organize the infrastructure of the Solar Park. Ragsdale employed more than 100 people to build the projects and will perform a maximum of three full -time functions to operate and perform routine maintenance on the solar park.

Ragsdale also has more than 3,200 solar panels – about 120 tons of damaged or shipped panels – with solarcycle.

“Ragsdale means the continuous dedication of EDP Renewables to Mississippi, its communities and local companies. The possibility of developing solar energy on Utility scale directly with customers such as Amazon, who are also committed to expanding their own presence in Mississippi, has been invaluable. We are proud of helping the commercial and industrial growth of the state with home -made energy solutions, ”said Sandhya Ganapathy, CEO of EDP Renewables Noord -America.

During the development of Ragsdale, Edpr worked together with signalergy and beta -engineering to inform community leaders and stakeholders about how renewable energy can stimulate economic growth in communities.

“The EDPR team is passionate about achieving positive growth within the communities where they are building,” said Lindsey Launius, director of the market strategy for Beta -Engineering. “Often this means that the community will be employed directly during the life cycle of the project to ensure transparency and buy-in from the landowners and nearby residents. It is an honor to work together with customers such as EDPR and their stakeholders to help them tell their story and to present a uniform approach to the energy transition. “

Signal Energy and Beta Engineering offered high-voltage technology, purchasing and building services to connecting Ragsdale with the grid.edpr after an active player in the growing market for renewable energy sources of Mississippi. Ragsdale Solar Park is the second project scale project of the company in De Staat. Pearl River Solar Park, an array of 175 MW near Bienville National Forest, generates energy equivalent to the consumption of 26,000 Mississippi-Houses.
