A collaboration of essential energy, the CSiro, Sigenergy Australia and Austrailan EV company Ausev have tested and confirmed that V2G Technology is ready in Australia. They have jointly announced Smart Energy 2025 in Sydney.

Essential Energy said it has successfully connected AUSEV’s EV Ford F-150 Lightning with a combined charging system (CCS2) DC bidirectics And the Clean Energy Council (CEC) approved the storage system of the Sigenergie.

The Sigenergy Sigenstor Energy Storage System with integrated V2G loader can be installed on the essential energy network via the existing solar connection process.

Essential energy with the CSiro is currently investigating V2G technology with other car manufacturers to offer extra options for customers.

Essential Energy Coo Luke Jenner said that the EV Ford F-150 lightning test results are a huge step forward to make the energy transition possible.

“V2G unlocks the potential for customers to achieve more value from their investments in renewable energy and is a crucial step in facilitating the absorption of electric vehicles,” Jenner said. “We have been testing on our network since 2023, where a customer uses his Nissan Leaf and the Wallbox Quasar Charger.”

Jenner added that in 2024 the CSiro was driving an extra test with the Port Macquarie Hub from Essential Energy and tests confirmed the Sigenergy Sigenstor CCS2 DC Bidirectional Charger and the AUSEV Ford F-1150 Lightning work effectively on the Essential Energy network.
