Calculating expected revenue maximizes ROI, and revenue forecasting is essential for making investment decisions. Image: Vattenfall. The market for bundled battery storage is currently on the rise, says Francisco del Rio de Pablo of NTR. Speaking on a panel at Solar Media’s Renewable Energy Revenue Summit 2024he said he foresees the market “growing very rapidly and enormously across Europe.” At the moment, he added, Britain is the most advanced market. There is a growing demand for energy storage in Europe, but regulatory barriers and incentives are needed to overcome these. Long-term investment scenarios and certainty of income are crucial. For…

Researchers in China have designed an inverted perovskite solar cell with a new strategy aimed at optimizing the bottom region of the cell. The proposed cell was treated with two molecules known as 2-mercaptoimidazole and 2-mercaptobenzimidazole and was based on a hole transport layer supported on a self-assembling monolayer. May 23, 2024 Emiliano BelliniA group of scientists led by Jiaxing University in China has developed an inverted perovskite solar cell based on a hole transport layer (HTL) with a self-assembled monolayer (SAM).Inverted perovskite cells have a device structure known as “pin”, where hole-selective contact p is at the bottom of…

KMFA Classical 89.5, a classical radio station from Austin, Texas, invested in an 89.64-kWDC rooftop solar project. In addition to solar panels, KMFA’s parking lot will soon host four electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, all equipped with universal chargers, for employees and guests to use. Credit: KMFA Classical 89.5 KMFA has partnered with locally owned Axis Solar to install an array composed of 166 solar panels, the maximum number allowed within city code. Once operational, the solar array will offset an estimated 133,000 kWh of electrical consumption annually. The PV project will be interconnected, supplying power to Austin Energy’s power…

Solar energy heats materials to more than 1,000 degrees Celsius Researchers at ETH Zurich have developed a method to generate heat of more than 1,000 degrees Celsius using solar energy. This innovation could replace fossil fuels in energy-intensive industries such as steel and cement production. The study, published in the journal Device on May 15, uses synthetic quartz to capture solar energy, demonstrating the potential for clean energy in these industries. “To tackle climate change, we need to decarbonize energy in general,” says Emiliano Casati of ETH Zurich. “People tend to think of electricity only as energy, but in fact…
