Aneel director Daniel Danna has told the Brazilian representatives of the representatives that the regulator will publish initial energy storage rules in the second half of 2025.

The first standards will tackle rasters, network use and storage allowance, including income stacking.

“The cycle in which we find ourselves is now involved in the production of an analysis of the regulations and the proposed normative resolution that we will now approve, still in the second half of the year,” said Danna. He added that the rules would also tackle ‘future situations such as [grid] Capacity auctions and insulated system auctions. “
