In July 2025, providers of electric vehicles (EV) can start applying for the financing of the Fast charging California projectThe aim is to finance up to $ 55 million for EV DC Snellaart stations at companies and publicly accessible locations.

The Fast Charge California Project is part of the California Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Project (Calevip). This project was launched in 2017, when the CEC granted a subsidy to charge and implement the Non -Profit Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE) to charge and implement a discount program. To date, Calevip has almost stimulated 10,000 EV Chargers To support the nearly 1.5 million light electric vehicles on the roads in California, according to the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE), the program implementer.

Applications for the Fast Charge California Project are open to EV -charging providers and others who represent locations such as convenience stores, gas stations, shopping centers, parking spaces, hotels and extra sites. Incentives can yield up to 100% of the total approved costs of a project, covered at $ 100,000 per charging port.

The CEC defines DC Fast Chargers as the one direct current (DC) electricity at 480 Volts to charge an electric vehicle with a full battery to 80% capacity in about 30 minutes, although the required time depends on the size of The vehicle battery and the capital level of the charger.

“Calevip has been an important program in the use of infrastructure for loading electric vehicles throughout the state,” said Hannon Rasool, director of the CEC Fuels and Transportation Division. “Installing more fast chargers is vital for the ZEV transition from California and we are delighted that the Fast Charge California project will not only give priority to fast chargers, but ready-made projects in communities that they do most needed. “

The American EV market has started in recent years, but the California market received a particularly strong boost in 2020 when the governor signed an executive order for which all new passenger cars and commercial light trucks in California were sold to be zero emissionship vehicles By 2035. August 2022, the California Air Resources Board (Carb) approved the Governor’s mandate and set the state to one Bold mission to deliver clean energy to the grid to provide its 40 million inhabitants, companies such as electricity as well as vehicle fleet.

A network of EV chargers in the public is necessary to increase the acceptance of EV. The CEC estimates about it 24,000 new chargers were installed in the first half of 2024, and the Fast Charge California Project wants to stimulate even more.

This announcement of California follows the new administration Recent order to block funds to States for the Loading Network of National Electric Vehicle (EV).

“The state -funded incentives are essential for the rapid and fair expansion of the fast -charging network of California. Knowing that they can charge when they have to give people the confidence to switch to an electric vehicle, “said Evan Wright, CSE’s director of EV -infrastructure and activities. “We are now making this announcement to give potential applicants the time to start planning so that they can place the best, ready-made projects.”

Calevip Financing comes from the CECs Clean transport program and the greenhouse gas reduction fund of the state.
