On the first day of the smarter e-show in Munich, Catl, the world’s largest battery manufacturer, revealed the Tener Stack, who describes it as the world’s first 9 MWh-large capacity energy storage system.

“The system was developed in response to customer demand to products with a high capacity that are also easy to transport,” said Hank Zhao, CTO of Ess Europe at Catl, during a press conference.

The Tener Stack is a two-in-one solution with two 20-foot containers stacked vertically. Each container weighs less than 36 tons and meets transport standards in 99% of countries worldwide, the manufacturer said.

This significantly improves the production of the product, whereby only standard lifting equipment is needed and the risk of tips during road transport is minimized.
