Michael P. Galime

The City of Utica has launched a community solar initiative, offering its residents the opportunity to potentially reduce their energy bills while supporting renewable energy sources.

“The City of Utica’s Community Solar Initiative is about doing right by our community by returning real benefits to our residents,” said Mayor Michael P. Galime.

“This initiative offers our residents a valuable opportunity to save money at a time when it would be particularly welcome. I encourage everyone to take advantage of this program and see firsthand how it can positively impact their energy costs.”

Participating residents will receive part of the energy generated by the project in the form of credits on their National Grid account, which are proportional to household consumption.

PowerMarket will manage customers’ subscriptions and support services, as well as assist with outreach.
