A British trade organization established to represent the energy storage sector launched in Westminster on Wednesday (25 June).

The ESA said it will be dedicated to accelerating the acceptance of energy storage technologies and mentioned the role that storage technology will play in the Clean Power 2030 action plan of the government, with £ 25 billion in private investments that are expected in the next five years.

Founding members of the new trading body are Seceergy Limited, SunSynk, Powervault, Octopus Energy, Keele University and Durham University. The founder and interim -CEO is Jason Howlett, CEO of Gesergy and a board advisor for solar manufacturer Solarport.
ESA is chased by Baroness Luciana Berger, who said at the launch that she is enthusiastic to keep the position to defend “a sector that is crucial for delivering the net-zero ambitions of the UK”.
She added: “Energy storage is not only crucial for balancing and stabilizing a grid with renewable driven-powered it is also one of the greatest possibilities for investments, innovation and leadership in the worldwide transition to clean energy.”
The British Energy Minister Michael Shanks will provide the keynote address to Solar Media’s Clean Power 2030 SummitsCombining the UK Solar Summitthe Wind Power Finance & Investment Summit and the Green hydrogen top.
