The administration of the city of Nancy, in the Murthe-et-Moselle Department of the Grand EST region in the northeast of France, announced that the solar modules of the French manufacturer Holosolis selected for a 6.8 MW Solar Carport project in Development in the Nancy Zenith Concert Hall.

Holosolis is planning a 5 GW cell and module factory in Hambach, near Sarreguemines, in the same region. In 2024, the project secured the status of the “Project of National Interest” of the French authorities.

The city council said that the photovoltaic panels for the “preferably” project will come from Holosolis if the Gigafactory has started production by the time that construction starts.

Work at the Nancy Zenith is planned to start in 2027. If Holosolis cannot deliver modules, the project can use other French, European or Asian products, the city council said.

The project is led by a consortium of public-private stakeholders, including Sem Sipenr, Energic/Energop Grand Est and Sem Grand Est Éergies. SEM SIPENR has 81 MW into operation and develops around 150 MW mounted and shaded projects throughout France.

Holosolis raises € 15 million ($ 17.7 million) in financing and the announcement marks a milestone in securing future investors. The company also recently signed a license agreement for the Topcon technology of Trina Solar.
