GameChange Solar says it will expand U.S. solar tracker production to 35 GW, delivering systems with 70% domestic content, potentially increasing to more than 85%.

GameChange Solar, a Connecticut-based provider of solar tracking solutions for ground-mounted PV installations, has announced plans to expand to 35 GW of annual U.S. domestic manufacturing capacity for key components. This is an increase of 11 GW compared to production in 2023.

GameChange Solar confirmed that the US-produced content of its solar trackers will be 70% standard for its customers, with more than 85% available on demand.

As of 2012, the company has a network of more than 30 manufacturing locations in 16 states, including Michigan, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, New Orleans, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky, where it produces torsion tubes, poles, controllers, module mounting equipment such as purlins and SpeedClamps , bearings, stamped parts and other tracker components.

Last year GameChange launched the 1P-2Row Genius tracker, which is said to reduce costs and speed installation by allowing one controller to manage two rows. The 1P-2Row Genius Tracker comes standard with pre-assembled components, including the omission of all rings.

In 2022, the company announced the MaxDensity system, a fixed tilt system for ground-mounted projects. It has an east-west landscape configuration of 5 degrees or 10 degrees. The system is designed to maximize the number of modules on a site, with a ground coverage ratio of up to 98%. The company said it can be installed in blocks of up to 7 MW, in configurations of up to 12,000 modules.

The company said it has delivered more than 26 GW of solar trackers and fixed tilt systems to date. This is how Catalyze, a national independent energy producer, completed this two solar projects in Lancaster, New York, using GameChange trackers. The facilities, one of which is a community solar project, are located on a decommissioned landfill in Erie County, New York.
