This edition of Projects weekly kicks off with Geronimo Power’s 125 MW Jackson County Solar project in Michigan, which will be connected to the electric grid. Additionally, we’re looking at Fortress Power’s partnership with TerraSol Energies to build a solar and storage project at a Toyota dealership in Pennsylvania. Soluna partners with KULR Technology Group to offer renewable energy data center services for bitcoin mining; and PowerBank is building a 6.9 MW solar project in the Capital District, New York.
Geronimo Power is building a solar project in Michigan
Geronimo Power hosted a ribbon-cutting event for its 125 MW Jackson County Solar project in Michigan. Bringing together project partners, landowners and community members, it celebrated the significant efforts made to bring the project to fruition and highlighted the substantial benefits it will bring to the local community.
“Every successful project starts with people, from our landowners and project partners to local community leaders,” said David Reamer, Chief Development Officer at Geronimo. “When industry and community come together, we boost the rural economies that are America’s heartland and deliver reliable energy that people can count on for years to come.”
Event visitors took part in a behind-the-scenes tour of the project, getting an up-close look at the construction process. Stops on the tour included the Callahan substation, which will connect the project to the electrical grid, as well as a tour of the panel area to learn more about the technology. The event concluded with a formal ribbon cutting to commemorate the project’s near completion.
Cool factor: Once operational, Jackson County Solar is expected to contribute more than $71 million in direct economic impact to the local environment. This includes $28 million in new tax revenue, which will be distributed to local counties, townships and school districts. In addition, the project is expected to generate enough clean, renewable energy to meet the equivalent electricity consumption of an estimated 33,600 households annually.

Fortress Power and TerraSol deliver solar and storage project to Team Toyota
Fortress power partnered with TerraSol Energies to deliver a groundbreaking solar and storage project for Team Toyota of Glen Mills. The installation features an 820 kWh Fortress Power eSpire commercial energy storage system, combined with a 700 kW solar panel.
Cool factor: The new solar and storage system will generate approximately 800,000 kWh of clean energy each year, saving Team Toyota more than $2 million in energy costs over the next 25 years.

Soluna partners with Bitcoin company to power data centers
Green data center developer Soluna Holdings Inc. has announced a new hosting partnership with KULR Technology Group Inc., a Bitcoin+ treasury company building a portfolio of groundbreaking technology companies ranging from high-performance energy systems to AI Robotics. The agreement reflects Soluna’s strategy to adapt its renewable energy hosting model to meet the evolving demand profiles of Bitcoin mining and adjacent industries.

Cool factor: Under this agreement, Soluna will operate approximately 3.3 MW of Bitcoin mining capacity for KULR at its Project Sophie facility in Kentucky. The exciting partnership marks the first time Soluna has partnered with a Bitcoin Treasury-focused company, expanding the company’s customer base beyond traditional Bitcoin miners and hyperscalers.
The 3.3 MW deployment at Project Sophie is expected to become operational in the fourth quarter of 2025, further strengthening Soluna’s leadership in sustainable computing infrastructure. Under the partnership, KULR will leverage Soluna’s operational and market expertise to procure, maintain and manage all activities related to its mining hardware fleet over the term of the contract.
PowerBank will build a 6.9 MW solar project in Albany, New York
Power Bank Corp. has entered into a lease for a 6.9 MWdc ground-mounted solar project, known as the NY-Crawford Rd project, in the Capital District, in Albany, New York. The project is expected to qualify for incentives under the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) NY-Sun program.
The company is in the process of submitting the interconnection application and has started the preliminary screening analysis as part of the initial interconnection steps. Assuming approval for the interconnection is received, the company will work to complete the permitting process and secure the necessary financing to build the project.
Cool factor: Once completed, the project will be operated as a community solar project. The Crawford Rd Project advances New York’s ambitious Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act goal of 6 GW of solar capacity by 2025. As a national leader in community solar, New York is responsible for nearly one-third of the 6.2 GW of installed solar capacity in the United States, and PowerBank is honored to to contribute to this transformative milestone.
