GRS completes the 100MWH Bess project of Foresight in Scotland

Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Company GRS has completed the construction of a 49.4 MW/98.8 MWH battery energy storage system in Scotland.

The independent Bess project was built for Energy Investment Firm Foresight Group and is currently waiting for an energetic. Both companies also agree that GRS will carry out the activities and maintenance (R&M) of the project for at least the first two years after it has been fully ratified and taken into use.

The Glendevon project is the second Bess project in the UK that Gransolar Group, the parent company of GRS, has undertaken in the UK. The company has built worldwide and is currently working on more than 350 MWH Bess projects.

Investment of the project was made via Foresight’s Flagship Energy Transition Infrastructure Fund, FEIP.

Foresighting look recently sold a 50% interest in another Bess project in ScotlandThe 50 MW Lunanhead project in Perthshire. The investment firm was pretty active in the summer Acquired Bess Investment Fund Harmony Energy Income Trust (Heit) in July 2025, which has a portfolio of eight grid -connected projects with a combined capacity of 400 MW/800MWH.

“Storage is no longer just an add-on: it is the key to make renewable energy sources reliable and competitive,” says Christian Moeckel, global commercial director at GRS.
